Jumpstart

Learn. Earn. Get Ahead.

Jumpstart Your College Education

Jumpstart is Atlantic Cape’s premier high school recruitment and enrollment program for graduating seniors from participating high schools. This program allows you to jumpstart your college education by earning credits that will allow you to smoothly transition from high school to college. Jumpstart students will be guided through application, placement, advising and registration.

Why choose Jumpstart?

  • Get a head start on college
  • Schedule courses early
  • Receive personalized support through every step

Students should contact their Guidance Office early in their senior year to indicate interest in the Jumpstart program.

What to expect:

step 1

Declare Your Interest in Jumpstart

Atlantic Cape’s Recruitment Team will visit your high school during the fall of your senior year to deliver a presentation on degree programs, placement requirements, financial aid, articulation agreements and the steps to get started. After the presentation, a QR code will be available in your Guidance Office. Simply scan the code and complete the form to officially declare your interest in Jumpstart.

step 2

Apply for Admission

All students are required to complete the Default Undergraduate Application, even if they have previously taken Dual Credit courses at Atlantic Cape.

Once your application is submitted, you will receive an acceptance letter within 24 hours and access to your Atlantic Cape Connect student portal. Make sure to check your Atlantic Cape Connect portal periodically for important announcements, updates and more.

step 3

Establishing Placement

One of the benefits of the Jumpstart program is that your Guidance Office will automatically send us your transcripts and test scores (SAT/ACT) once your mid-year senior grades are posted. Our team will review your documents and notify you by email if placement testing is required.

Step 4

Financial Aid

Our experienced team is here to guide you through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Application process. We’ll review your FAFSA, or NJ Alternative Application, prepare award estimates, and help you create an FSA ID and upload important documents. Learn about eligibility criteria and details on grants, loans and scholarships.

Step 5

Register for Classes

After we have established your placement, you will meet with a Student Services Navigator to schedule your Fall Semester courses. No appointment is needed! As a Jumpstart student, our Student Services Navigators will visit your high school during the spring of your senior year to meet with you directly. You will also have the option to schedule courses over the summer if you’d like to get a head start on your college journey.
