Q: What are your plans after graduating?
A: I plan on taking a year off to work on my portfolio, study foreign languages, and focus on work and hobbies. Then, I plan on attending a four-year university to earn a bachelor’s degree in video game design, or a related field of study, to jumpstart my video game design career. My dream college is NYU because they have a wonderful art school that I would love to attend.
Q: Why did you choose Atlantic Cape?

A: With my friends here, I founded the Muslim Student Association, for which I was the president and vice president, along with the Black Student Alliance. I also had the privilege of speaking during Black History Month flag raising events the past two years. I participated in many club activities and performed at club events too. I was briefly on the Archery team as well.
Q: ;Describe the biggest challenge(s) you faced and how you overcame it/them.
A: I was homeschooled for my entire childhood, so coming to college after finishing high school at the age of 15 was challenging. I didn’t feel quite prepared for college yet. I was a bit reserved and nervous, and everything about college sounded intimidating. I didn’t think I was going to do well, but with each semester I got better with time management, communicating with my professors, getting assignments done, seeking help, and overcoming my shyness. Now, I feel like I can do anything.
Q: ;Did you attend classes at Atlantic Cape in-person, online, hybrid or remote?
A: I attended in-person, online, hybrid and remote.
Q: Who would you like to thank for helping you achieve your college or career goals?
A: I thank God for giving me the ability and strength to get through each struggle, to accomplish each goal and gain every achievement I have received. I also thank my mom, dad and entire family for all of their support, love and prayers. I thank my friends for being with me during the toughest of times and cheering for me every step of the way. Lastly, I thank all of my professors, advisors and faculty for their guidance, motivation and support throughout this journey.
Q: What does graduating from Atlantic Cape mean to you?
A: It means leaving a place I wish I could hold onto forever. A place that gave me shelter from harsh weather, where I found a community of incredible people, a place where uniqueness is encouraged and change is good. A place where I was given the space to grow from a little seed into a flower. Graduating from Atlantic Cape also means leaving home. I hope that whatever I do next in life honors Atlantic Cape and makes the people here proud of me.
