MAYS LANDING – Atlantic Cape Community College’s Art Gallery is once again hosting the Atlantic County Senior Art Show in collaboration with the Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Aging from Monday, June 15 through Thursday, July 16 in the Art Gallery located on Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing campus in the William Spangler Library (D Building) on the second floor.
The Annual Senior Citizens Juried Art Contest and Exhibition celebrates the creativity and artistic achievement of Atlantic County residents age 60 and older. This annual event showcases original works by artists of all experience levels, from emerging and amateur artists to established professionals.
Atlantic Cape Art Gallery Coordinator Mary Nghiem is impressed by the artistic prowess displayed by the many professionals, non–professional, student and alumni artists.
“In my first year coordinating this event, I've come to appreciate just how much creativity and talent our senior residents bring to this community through the Atlantic County Senior Art Show. Seeing works by both professional and non-professional artists displayed together, inspiring students and visitors alike, is exactly what Atlantic Cape’s Art Gallery is here for.
“I'm especially proud that some of our participating artists are current students or graduates of Atlantic Cape, a reminder of the diversity of our student body and that artistic growth doesn't stop at any age. Through our partnership with the Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Services, this event reflects the creativity and vitality present at every stage of life.”
Art Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. The Art Gallery is closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
A closing reception will be held on Monday, July 13, 5 – 6:30 p.m.
