Atlantic Cape’s Center for Student Success Celebrates Student Achievements at Graduate Awards Ceremony

MAYS LANDING — Atlantic Cape Community College’s Center for Student Success recognized 36 graduating students for their outstanding academic achievement, as well as, a faculty and staff member for their unsung dedication this school year during the Annual Graduate Awards Ceremony on May 5 in the Walter E. Edge Theatre on the Mays Landing campus.
“This is our opportunity to acknowledge graduating students that have participated in the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program, the Center for Accessibility, NJ STARS, Student Support Services, veterans and any military-related students as well,” Center for Student Success Senior Director Stacey Zacharoff said. “Members of the Center for Student Success staff and the Center for Accessibility are some of the hardest working staff members here at Atlantic Cape and it is because of what they do that we are able to help our graduates and future graduates to be successful.”
The ceremony began with students receiving a certificate signifying their academic achievements. Nearly a dozen of the students bestowed upon a college faculty or staff member an “Extra Mile Award” for going above and beyond to help them succeed along the way.

Receiving the Paula Stewart Davis Award for faculty was Physics and Chemistry Professor John Stratton, while Specialist Valerie Warren won for supporting professional staff unsung hero. The awards are named after Stewart Davis, a former Atlantic Cape retired Dean of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
