If you are a dependent of a veteran, you may qualify for educational assistance. This program offers up to 45 months of benefits.
To qualify, you must be the son, daughter or spouse of:
- A veteran who died or who is permanently and totally disabled resulting from a service-connected disability in the Armed Forces.
- A veteran who died from any cause while such service-connected disability was in existence.
- A service member missing in action or captured in the line of duty.
- A service member forcibly detained or interned in the line of duty by a foreign government.
Children of the veteran must be between the ages of 18 and 26 to be eligible. Spouses must receive the benefits within 10 years from when the VA finds you eligible.
