The Smithsonian Institution's Travelling Exhibition is proud to bring The Bias Inside Us exhibit, which raises awareness about the science and history of bias and what we can do about it, to Atlantic Cape Community College's Mays Landing campus. This exhibit explores the science behind implicit bias, how biases form, how they influence our perceptions and decisions, and how greater awareness can help us build more inclusive and equitable environments. Bringing this exhibit to our campus supports our educational mission and offers a meaningful opportunity for learning, reflection, and dialogue among students, faculty, staff, and the broader community.
This exhibit is free and open to the public.
The Bias Inside Us exhibit is for teachers, students, communities and individuals to learn more about implicit bias. It explores the social science, psychology and consequences of implicit bias. The project is grounded in research and teaches us that bias is inside everyone. It is part of being human. Being aware of our bias can help us recognize their influence and impact on our behaviors and worldview. This exhibit offers everyone an opportunity to learn how to challenge bias in the world through awareness of one’s own bias.
