"Earning my certifications through Atlantic Cape prepared me to enter the profession with confidence and a strong foundation of knowledge. Continuing my education while working, being a mother, and a wife taught me perseverance, time management, and dedication. Skills that not only helped me succeed in my courses, but will also serve me well in my healthcare career."

How did earning your certificates prepare you for your next step?

Earning my certifications through Atlantic Cape prepared me to enter the profession with confidence and a strong foundation of knowledge in the phlebotomy field. The skills, hands-on experience, and guidance I received have equipped me to excel in my role and continue advancing in my healthcare career.

Did you attend classes at Atlantic Cape in-person, online, hybrid or remote?

 I attend hybrid classes.

Who would you like to thank?

I would like to sincerely thank Ms. Evie, Ms. Alice, Ms. Kylie, and Ms. Jess for always showing patience and kindness toward me. They never hesitated to answer my questions, even when I was second-guessing myself or overthinking. Their encouragement motivated me to keep pursuing my dream of working in healthcare. I have always had a passion for the medical field, but life threw a few curveballs along the way. Thanks to their support, I have now completed two courses and proudly hold both CPT and CCMA certifications.

Why should a student consider attending Atlantic Cape?

I highly recommend attending ACCC. No matter what challenges you face, there’s always someone here who will support and guide you every step of the way. My time at ACCC has shown me that a community college can offer the same quality education, opportunities, and life-changing experiences as any prestigious school; sometimes even more.

What is your favorite motivational quote?

“Where there is a will, there is a way.” This quote reminds me that no matter the challenges I face, determination and perseverance can lead to success.

What has your educational journey meant to you?

My educational journey has been a long time coming. Right out of high school, I didn’t have access to the opportunities available today, and due to personal circumstances, I had to drop out at 19. I worked as much as I could to support my family, but when the opportunity arose to return to school in my thirties, with the unwavering support of my wife, I knew I had to continue the journey I had begun. Returning to college has been incredibly meaningful. It allowed me to pursue my passion for healthcare and achieve goals I once thought were out of reach.
