"Student Support Services helped me with managing my finances so I could pay my tuition. The Food Pantry offered good sources for food availability!"

Why did you choose to attend Atlantic Cape?

I chose Atlantic Cape because it was an opportunity for me to finally find a college that has a program to start planning for careers and prep you for your financial stability. Atlantic Cape offered services, such as Student Support Services to help students with online and in-person course work and workshops to advise students on career planning.

What type of Financial Aid assistance did you receive?

I received scholarships, grants, tuition-free college through the Community College Opportunity Grant and I took part in Work Study in the Marketing and College Relations Department. Getting Financial Aid helped me budget my spending habits and become mindful of my expenses.

What activities, clubs or sports were you involved with?

During my first year at Atlantic Cape I was in Radio Club and Communication Awards Club where I was the music coordinator. In this position I learned how to convert music and adjust volumes for a show. I was also part of the Community for the Differently Abled.

Tell us how the College's Student Support Services helped you.

The service for a First-Generation student like me was perfect because I got to go to a luncheon and a conference for people who tell their stories of how they did not always have the resources in school until they attended Atlantic Cape.

How will a degree from Atlantic Cape help you achieve your career goals?

I am currently attending Rowan University and will be graduating in May 2027. My plans are to work on stories to write and publish one day as a journalist. I graduated from Atlantic Cape in 2024 with my Associate Degree in Communication.

What challenges did you overcome?

Listening to outside negativity from people who had never persevered. I learned how to ignore those people while continuing my education.
