My fondest memory, in addition to teaching ASL, was when y students, faculty and staff enjoyed my workshops about both ASL and Deaf Culture as part of my strategy to build inclusion at Atlantic Cape.
Who has helped you the most during your time at Atlantic Cape?
My supervisor, Gwen McIntyre, who has helped me with my planning for future ASL classes.
Tell us about your educational journey and what it has meant to you.
My journey was all about understanding both American Sign Language and Deaf Culture especially during my college years. It began at my Deaf school where I first learned sign language when I was about three years old that inspired myself to grow and teach ASL to different communities by making Deaf communities to feel included by other people. I worked hard enough growing up to achieve my dream job to teach people about my special language that Deaf people use to communicate in their everyday lives.
Did you take classes and/or earn a degree from Atlantic Cape?
No, I graduated from Bergen Community College in 2010 with AA in Liberal Arts and from Gallaudet University in 2013 with BA in Deaf Studies.
