MAYS LANDING — Two recent Atlantic Cape Community College graduates – Daniel Mulraney and Roman Segov – were recognized for their scholarly excellence and named as members of the 2025 New Jersey All-State Academic Team, the New Jersey Council of County Colleges (NJCCC) announced on July 21.

The NJCCC this year recognized 35 students from the State of New Jersey’s 18 community colleges who worked incredibly hard and overcame significant barriers to become the State’s very best community college students. Each of these students exemplify the true power of community colleges.

All honorees are members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society for community college students, and were nominated by their college leaders for their academic performance, leadership, and contributions to both campus and community.

“PTK gave me an opportunity to grow my leadership abilities and provide service to my college,” said Mulraney, who resides in Marmora and earned his Associate of Science Degree in Mathematics. “Atlantic Cape provided a solid foundation for me to transfer to my four-year college of choice and continue to pursue my academic goals.”

“Aside from strong academics, Atlantic Cape Community College gave me the opportunity to pursue my interests outside of the classroom,” said Segov, an international student born in Zelenogorsk, Russia currently residing in Sea Isle City who earned his Associate of Science Degree in Physics. “I was able to participate in many clubs, including PTK, that enriched my time at Atlantic Cape.”

Roman Segov receives honorary resolutionStudents selected to the 2025 All-State Academic Team represent a broad range of academic disciplines, including biology (pre-medicine), business administration, education, engineering, healthcare, liberal arts, physics, psychology, and the sciences. The group includes students who plan to transfer to four-year institutions and those entering the workforce after graduation.

New Jersey’s 18 community colleges serve 240,000 students across 49 campus locations and provide affordable, high-quality academic and workforce programs that expand access to education and economic opportunities, while preparing students to participate in the state’s skilled and innovative workforce.
