Dear Faculty and Staff:
Welcome back to the first day of class! These are challenging times to start college or complete a degree in the midst of COVID-19. Students need our support more now than ever. I am pleased to welcome students back to class through my video.
We are ready for students whether taking classes online, remotely, or in a hybrid model with limited face-to-face instruction. Last week we sent new students emails regarding resources that are available for students’ success.

The Atlantic City Campus will be open until 6 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays through September 2. The Cape May County Campus will be open until 6 pm September 15 through October 1.
- Virtual Student Orientation- the College’s New Student Orientation has gone virtual and can be found on the College’s website under “Current Student." The College’s first virtual, interactive orientation provides students with a self-paced, ADA accessible program that fosters engagement and connection on-demand. Students also have access to over 50 student success workshops and videos in both English and Spanish. If you have a chance, please peruse the new format.
Academic Orientation
- Being Successful in Remote Learning- This popular academic orientation is available via live Zoom and the last session will be held today, August 31 at 3:30 pm. Zoom links to attend this session are available on our College’s website.
Assistance for Students
- The Laptop Loaner Program- This program is being continued for students who qualify, with the addition of home Internet service through Comcast Internet Essentials. This will ensure that students who do not have a computer and/or Internet at home will have the technology they need to succeed this semester. Students may email name, student ID, email and phone number to techloan@atlanticcape.edu to request this assistance.
- Food Pantry- Based on a recent student survey, we know that many students have challenges while attending College, including food insecurity. The Food Pantries located at our three campuses will be open on a limited basis. Thanks to generous donations, they are currently being stocked with food. The hours will soon be posted on Blackboard. Any current student may access the Food Pantry. ShopRite gift cards are also available to those students needing assistance. Please contact foodpantry@atlanticcape.edu for more information or to donate.
We are in challenging times due to COVID-19. I appreciate your dedication to students and their success in and out of the classroom. We are Atlantic Cape Strong!
Please save the date for the upcoming Faculty and Staff Meeting scheduled for Friday, September 25 at 11 am via Zoom. I will provide an update on the state of budget and outlook, our challenges, and plans for moving forward.
