In Memory of Dr. Helen Bolnick

We regret to report the passing of beloved Atlantic Cape retiree, Dr. Helen Bolnick. Helen passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at the age of 92.
Helen Bolnick joined ACC on September 1, 1968 as assistant professor of health and physical education; promoted to associate professor in June 1976. She also served as physical education coordinator, director of athletics and chaired the college-wide goals and objectives committee.
Helen's name is synonymous with archery. She has trained All-American archers, served as program director for the National Archery Association and on the executive board of the Eastern Regional Intercollegiate Archery Association. Helen's ACC teams have won countless championships and she published many articles in Archery International magazine.
Other significant accomplishments include: Coach of the Year by USA Archery: 1980, 1998, 2006 and 2008; Coach of the Year for the 1999 All-American Archery Camp; named U.S. Olympic Committee Developmental Coach of the Year in Archery in 2000; Director of U.S. Intercollegiate Archery Championships in 1980, 1998 and 2008; and she was involved in two Olympic competitions: Los Angeles in 1984; Atlanta in 1996.
Helen retired from full-time teaching June 30, 1998 but stayed on as archery coach through Spring 2008 and served as an adjunct, teaching archery, through May 2013.
Helen is survived by her three sons, all physicians: Harold, Alan and Jay Bolnick and four grandchildren.
