The ACA offers a variety of degree programs and certificates—including our one-year certificate program in Cape May. We also provide you with flexible part- and full-time learning options so that you can establish the skills and techniques needed to open the doors to your future at a pace that fits your busy lifestyle.

ACA students can get real-life experience by working at our student-run gourmet restaurant, Carême's, and our student-run bakery, Strudels. Whether practicing your pizza making at our outdoor wood-fired pizza oven or harvesting your own fresh ingredients at our organic greenhouse and herb garden, you'll discover a variety of ways to fine tune your culinary craft.

 Becoming an official student at the ACA offers more than just hands-on learning opportunities to help you succeed in the world of baking/pastry and culinary arts. You will also join a substantial network of skilled ACA alumni from all around the world, who understand how to navigate the real-world challenges of the food service industry, and can provide you with the mentorship and connections to get help get your foot in the door.

About Us

Internships and Externships

As part of your two-year program in the Academy of Culinary Arts, you’ll complete at least 400 hours in a hands-on internship or externship. These real-world experiences prepare you for the fast-paced demands of the culinary industry and help you build the skills and confidence employers look for. Your hard work leads somewhere - our graduates consistently land jobs in the field after graduation.

Practice Your Skills in Real-Time

Learn at Carême's and Strudels

During each semester, the ACA's students gain real-life experience at its student-run gourmet restaurant, Carême's, and student-run bakery, Strudels. Students prepare lunch and dinner specials in the kitchen at Carême's while serving customers in our dining room. Students also staff the Strudels bakeshop, which sells student-baked breads, pies, pastries and desserts.

American Culinary Foundation (ACFEF) Data

We are the only college in New Jersey that has received accreditation with the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF). Accordingly, the Academy of Culinary Arts provides annual outcome data of our students. This includes graduation rates, job placement, and certification success - key indicators of how we’re preparing students for careers in the culinary industry.
