Emergency Closings

- The Director of Security and Public Safety and/or the Senior Director of Security and Facilities will advise the Chief Business Officer of the emergency and discuss next steps.
- If the determination is to clear the campus of all activity, effectively closing the campus or campuses, the Chief of Staff will communicate that to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Executive Director of Marketing and College Relations, and other members of the President’s Cabinet as needed. The Executive Director of Marketing and College Relations will communicate the same to all Staff, Faculty and Students using text messaging, TV Stations and the Website. Security will utilize the Campus Emergency Notification System if warranted.
- In the case of a weather event that will affect campus operations, the Director of Security and Public Safety will confer with the K-12 schools and Stockton University to assess action plans.
- These action plans will be shared with the Chief Business Officer who will make a recommendation to the Chief of Staff and the President regarding actions to be taken by Atlantic Cape.
- In the case of inclement weather, college operations will move to remote status. The Chief of Staff will communicate that to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Executive Director of Marketing and College Relations, and other members of the President’s Cabinet as needed.
- The Executive Director of Human Resources will send an email to all staff communicating the need for them to plan to work remotely during the expected period of the weather event.
- The Vice President of Academic Affairs will notify Faculty to plan for remote instruction during the expected period of the weather event.
- In the case of inclement weather, all critical staff/essential personnel in Security, Facilities and housekeeping will still be expected to report to campus.
- College staff should reference and follow the respective campus' Emergency Operation Plan.
