Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988---Compliance

Atlantic Cape Community College, in order to be in compliance, recognizes the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, which requires federal contractors and federal grant recipients to establish and maintain drug-free awareness programs or be subject to sanctions up to and including debarment.
The Act also requires federal contractors with contracts worth $100,000 or more and any recipient of a grant from a federal agency to institute drug-free workplace programs.
The College shall publish and distribute to all employees a drug use policy statement, included in the Employee Handbook, as required in the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
The College shall establish a drug-free awareness program to inform all employees of:
- the dangers of drug abuse in the workplace.
- the employer's policy of maintaining a drug-free workplace.
- any available drug counseling, rehabilitation and employee assistance programs.
- the penalties for workplace drug-abuse violations.
